What impact does The Haus of Nunsense have in Scotland?

As we exist to support the queer community, we are committed to being as transparent as possible about what activities we get up to as well showcasing the positive impact we have on the queer community across Scotland. Each year we publish an annual report which details what the Haus did from January to December that year which can be read in full here:

To save you having to dig through the Haus reports and adding them up yourselves, we have also tried to summarise some of the key impacts we have had on Scotland since coming together as a Haus in 2023.

Community Support

  • Involved in the blessing of 3 queer spaces aross central Scotland.

  • Provided 27 blessings for members of the community, including leading a queer wedding ceremony.

  • Signed over 334petitions that affect the community.

  • Shared key information from various charities and queer businesses & organisations.

Events

  • Attended large events such as DragCon UK and the Edinburgh Fringe.

  • Have attended over 5 Pride events across Scotland, at times speaking on the main stage.

  • Invited as guest speakers for over 2 events, such as TDoV and TDoR.

  • Appeared on 1 radio show discussing issues affecting the community.

Fundraising

  • 150 GBP has been raised and donated to 1 charity organisation.

  • 50 GBPhas been donated from Haus members to 2 GoFundMe requests from the community.

  • Carried out 1 event/project to assist in fundraising activities.

  • Multiple fundraising appeals have been shared online to signal boost.

  • Over 88 podcast episodes provided by 3 ongoing projects.

  • Over 59 videos provided by 2 ongoing projects on YouTube.

  • Over 45 videos provided by 1 ongoing projects on YouTube.
